He actually came in to the store where i work( a Gnc in smyrna) and i gotta say...you wouldnt look at the guy and ever say his arms are lacking. i actually didnt recognize him at first, i just looked up because i thought the power had gone out when he walked through the doorway and blocked all incoming light. He said in the latest MD that he never even specifically trained his upper back, he never did deadlifts..etc, etc.
And honestly i think the growth he has had in the more aesthetic body parts in the last couple years speak more to the effectiveness of the time he spent in PL/Fball. If he had not been a 300lb monstrosity with a lot of strength it would have been a hell of a lot harder to put that muscle on.
Think about it, which person is likely going to gain an inch on their arms quicker, a 160 lb newbie who has never trained arms, or a 250 oly/pl who has never trained arms? And even barring that...if all anybody got out of it was spend your first 5 years getting strong on basic stuff before you succumb to the weider principles...you would still be better off than starting with the weider ways.

What about Trey Brewer? yes, gigantonormous legs and all, but what about his back/lat width? even as a powerlifter a good bench takes strong lats, so he should have those, but trey's look underdeveloped, even to my untrained eye.
trey's back is weak because he didnt train for it, most power lifters do train with anciliary lifts including chins or pulldowns................the point trying to be made, is strength with good form and diet eqautes to good muscle mass and development...........
