No it was not sarcastic at all. I did not mean it in a bad way. I am a qualified personal fitness trainer. So don't worry, you do not have to show me any proof. I just meant that brisk walking for 90 minutes for simply put, burn fat.
that's cool. i just thought you meant intense cardio for 90 minutes. i totally agree with what you said about brisk walking for 90 minutes. i may have to try that sometime when i'm extremely bored. haha!! brisk walking for that long is actually a good idea. it keeps the heart exercised, your liver will secrete hdl cholesterol, and it's simple.
i am glad that this did not get ugly. i was afraid that you were going to get offended by what i said. i created a thread about a week ago saying that female bodybuilding, fitness, and figure is a growing sport, and we also need more women in the sport and on this forum. i would have been pissed off at myself if i would have made you leave, since you just got here.
🙂

I would never get offended by something like as you said. This is a discussion board, and sometimes things get interperated wrong. Thats why it is good to explain what you are talking about, that way you both understand clearly where you are coming from. And we are on the same wave length.......
Hey tightbooty, I used a personal trianer for a month. You weren't her were you?
Never mind. Just thinking out loud and enjoying the memories.

No....................
I even used a personal trainer for a month. Screwed the hell out of her every day. Only lost two pounds.
Damn, thats some funny sh*t bro! hahah, Am I the only one who caught that? or is it that no one wants to encourage T-bar with his sick humor? lmao!
Hit the streets. Nothing burns off fat like running outdoors. I've seen people use treadmills, elliptical trainers, steppers, spinning classes... but nothing I've seen ever compares to running outdoors every morning when you roll out of bed. I even used a personal trainer for a month. Screwed the hell out of her every day. Only lost two pounds.
I recommend "Marathon Sex"...........
You should lose more body fat that way, and also it will make her very satisfied........
Hahahahahahaha
this is not really directed towards you personally tightbooty, but don't you think that 90 minutes of aerobic activity is too much? i mean, when your body is undergoing aerobic activity, you burn glucose, glycogen, fat, etc. although, when your body is undergoing long amounts of cardio, your body begins to think that it will keep in this state. after about 45 minutes of aerobic activity, your body starts to release a stress hormone called cortisol. this hormone will begin to store fat as energy because it "thinks" that your body will stay in constant aerobic activity. so, it must preserve it's energy. cortisol also gets it's energy from breaking down muscles. it breaks down the muscles for nitrogen. the nitrogen is used for the working muscles. nitrogen is needed for amino acids. without nitrogen, you cannot have an amino acid. the other elements like carbon, oxygen, etc are used to create more atp. (glycolysis, kreb's cycle, and the chemiosmotic method)
i would not recommend doing cardio that long. i personally believe that 30 minutes is more than enough. 30 minutes on an empty stomach right after you wake up is more than suffice.
when you do too long of sessions of cardio, you will actually have a reversal effect.
you WILL run into problems doing that much cardio, shit, i don't do that before a show!!!!
youre body is very good at adapting to 2 things;
~diet
~cardio
when dieting low carbs, you throw a junk day in once a week to ensure your body isn't adapting to the diet.
when doing CARDIO. HIIT is the best way to go, you do too much cardio, your body will adapt to it, in turn, making you have to do more. and you can CHEW UP muscle doing too much cardio. our bodies are designed to "keep" fat storages (for those long winters when we were cavemen;) )
15-20 of high intensity interval cardio is much more effective and has a lesser chance of adaption.

this is what i actually agree with most and also do. i can personally see both sides, and how they can be both effective. although, what i would agree with more is what i personally do and with what queen says.
like i said before, 30 minutes of cardio is more than enough.
i actually only do about 25 minutes of cardio in the morning.
Bio and Queen have some good points, but you have overlooked some basic exercise physiology. 1) The body burns a greater proportion of fats for fuel as the duration of the exercise session goes on. 2) At lower intensities (calculated by a Respiratory Exchange Ratio VCO2/CO2) the body also burns a greater proportion of fats as fuels. I do understand your body will adapt to Cardio, and I DO think anything over 60 minutes is too much! Interval training works well because it keeps the body confused by incorporating higher intensity cardio and lower intensity cardio in the same session. I believe these basic principles were what tightbooty was trying to convey.

high intensity cardio also works on the grounds that it gets your heart rate up and keeps it there. it also allows you to do what 60 minutes of cardio (at a moderate pace) can do in about 15minutes.
i work 7 days a week, probably 14 hours a day in total i don't have time for a "brisk" walk when preparing for a show. i get in, do my high intensity cardio and am done (excluding training posing etc....)
i wish i had another 4 hours in the day....:(
i wish i had another 4 hours in the day....:(
don't we all? 😎
What ever works for you works......
If you can get away with less cardio, well then do.
i was simply giving advice. I am NATURAL and I am female. We have 10% on average more body fat than Men. And I have also CUT UP for comps.
And its not true about doing high intensity cardio for 15 minutes burning the same amount of body fat, as if you were doing your cardio for much longer. I have actually tried it for my second comp. No way did I get as lean. It was very frustrating. It is just a fad. And it is bull shit. Take it from someone who has tried both ways........
You will burn more fat working at a moderate pace for a longer duration of time. It simply taps into fat and uses that as fuel. There is scientific proof to back this up.

i would like to see your scientific fact that is calling MY fact bullshit. BTW~i went to the WORLD NATURAL CHAMPIONSHIPS and was 100% NATURAL and i am FEMALE.
what works for some doesn't work for others....just because it doesn't work for you, doesn't mean it doesn't work.
here's my pics from the world natural championships....i think it's safe to say i got VERY cut up....cardio? twice a day, 20 minutes high intensity interval.
i have to retreive them..i shall return.

this was me, one year after training 100% natural. third place in lightweight open womens....

What if I told you that you could burn more fat by doing less cardio? Well, with High Intensity Interval Training (also known as HIIT) you can do just that, burn more fat while spending less time in the gym. In this article I will explain how to get the best results from this new and cutting-edge type of cardiovascular training.
You have probably been told just like the rest of us that in order to burn the greatest amount of fat you need to do cardio for 20 to 60 minutes at a moderate intensity. This will indeed melt the fat away but HIIT is a more efficient and athlete-friendly way to train and burn fat at the same time.
How It Works
With HIIT you will be working harder than you normally work but for about a quarter to a half of the time that you would normally spend on the cardio machine of your choice. HIIT is so intense and effective that you only need 15 to 20 minutes TOPS!
Here is how it works:
Pick the cardio machine of your choice (treadmill, elliptical, rower, bike, swimming) and perform a 5 minute warm-up.
Then take time to stretch properly and you are ready to begin.
Start at a moderate pace for 1 minute, then crank up the pace to 90 or 95% of your maximum heart rate.
Continue at this effort for 15 to 20 seconds, then slow down to your starting pace for another minute followed by another all-out sprint for 15 to 20 seconds.
Do this for no more than 15 minutes.
After that finish your workout by cooling down for 5 minutes and thoroughly stretch afterwards.
If you perform this right I guarantee that you will be totally exhausted after 20 minutes of this.
Benefits Of HIIT
A study at Laval University in Quebec, Canada found that HIIT cardio helped trainees loose nine times more fat than those who trained the traditional way (moderate speed for 20-60 minutes). Combine HIIT with your weight program and you boost your metabolism through the roof!
The reason that HIIT is so successful is this:
When you work at a high intensity, you burn more total calories per pound of body weight.
High Intensity workouts such as weight training and HIIT boost growth hormone levels.
Elevates the body's metabolism throughout the ENTIRE DAY!
What does this mean for you? The more calories that you burn in a day, the more weight you are able to lose. Even if weight loss is not your goal, HIIT is for you. Athletes will see better gains from doing HIIT cardio as opposed to traditional cardio. Unless you are training for a marathon, you do not keep a constant pace during your sport. All sports whether it be soccer or football, even baseball or basketball have a point where you need to change gears and hit a full sprint.
HIIT will not only help your cardiovascular system, but will train the Anaerobic, ATP/CP system as well. Not only will you increase your cardiovascular endurance but improve your raw speed and explosiveness as well!
Conclusion
I will let the studies speak for themselves. HIIT provides a more effective workout in much less time! Everyone can benefit from HIIT cardio whether it be the person who is trying to lose weight or the professional football player training for the upcoming NFL season! Give HIIT a try and I am sure that you will not go back to the traditional way of performing cardio again!
