Hey guys i was wondering whats the best way to make the love handles and the lower ab fat vanish. I have not really worked out the past 4 years since i graduated and trying to get back into a routine and thats my primary focus is losing the fat and turning it back into a six pack. I was thinking tons of cardio and eating right?

yup, you got it. you cannot lose fat in just one area. you've got to lower total body fat. so cardio and eating right. :cardio:

I honestly think that once the lovehandles are there they never really go away. I understand that is one of the most common Lipo procedures in men. I know mine seem to be permanently locked-in.

bone, i do agree with you, slightly. love handles are a bitch once you have them. although, i believe from personal experiences that they can go away. you just have to get to a low bodyfat. when you're around a 10-15%, you'll see them slightly. if you get under 10%, you shouldn't see them. at least, that was how it was for me. bone, what % are you?

you can't spot reduce, but, some people hold more fat in certain places than others. "love handles" are quite common in men, just as "booty" is common for women.

but, as you lean out, they will as well:) might be the last place to go (that's what happens to me, i gain my weight in my waist:( ) but just be patient:)

Hit the streets. Nothing burns off fat like running outdoors. I've seen people use treadmills, elliptical trainers, steppers, spinning classes... but nothing I've seen ever compares to running outdoors every morning when you roll out of bed. I even used a personal trainer for a month. Screwed the hell out of her every day. Only lost two pounds.

Bump QOD,,, you may still have luv handles at 12% bodyfat but they'll be gone by the time you're at 9% bodyfat. If you still got them, you need to keep lowering your bodyfat. Simple. 🙂

Bio,
I was around 14-16% before my last cycle, I'm guessing that I'm a bit more now. Never had really low bf %.

That is very negative thinking and if you think that, then you will are unlikely to get rid of your love handles. Its like hearing a women say that she has had children now, so she is stuck with her body afterwards. Which is just an excuse. Excercise and a correct diet will get rid of those love handles. They are simply just fat and fat is unused energy. So train your abs from all directions and do I would say brisk walking for a period of say 30 minutes to 90 minutes 2-3 times per week. Weight yourself once a week, and then you can change how much cardio you need to do to get the fat off. If you are losing say between 1-2 pounds per week, then stick with cardio for 3 times. If you need to do more then, do it. Just keep up with your weight training as well. And make sure you are having enough protein in your diet, so that you don't lose muscle.

this is not really directed towards you personally tightbooty, but don't you think that 90 minutes of aerobic activity is too much? i mean, when your body is undergoing aerobic activity, you burn glucose, glycogen, fat, etc. although, when your body is undergoing long amounts of cardio, your body begins to think that it will keep in this state. after about 45 minutes of aerobic activity, your body starts to release a stress hormone called cortisol. this hormone will begin to store fat as energy because it "thinks" that your body will stay in constant aerobic activity. so, it must preserve it's energy. cortisol also gets it's energy from breaking down muscles. it breaks down the muscles for nitrogen. the nitrogen is used for the working muscles. nitrogen is needed for amino acids. without nitrogen, you cannot have an amino acid. the other elements like carbon, oxygen, etc are used to create more atp. (glycolysis, kreb's cycle, and the chemiosmotic method)

i would not recommend doing cardio that long. i personally believe that 30 minutes is more than enough. 30 minutes on an empty stomach right after you wake up is more than suffice.

when you do too long of sessions of cardio, you will actually have a reversal effect.

No I do not believe you. See us women don't get the love handles, but instead we get fat on our butts and thighs. Do you know how hard it is for us??? I have actually done what I prescribed above, as i have competed. I have put my competition photos up in the new members intro. The secret is to brisk walk, not run. Running will tap too much into muscle and we don't want that. No, sorry to say I had all this fat on my thighs and I had to lose it for my comp. Fat is just fat. You are getting too technical. Simple, just increase your activity and it is bound to come off. It did for me..... I just had to increase my walking. I am also a natural bodybuilder, so I do not use anything except diet, and training to cut for a comp. But you have to have the right diet also. To get to competition level, you have to do what you have to........

okay...i am on the same page as you. i thought you were talking about intense aerobic activity. i misunderstood you. 90 minutes of brisk walking is fine. all that does is keep the heart rate slightly higher than normal.

although, i do have a question. what do you mean you do not belive me? would you like me to provide proof? that is not a sarcastic remark. i had to clarify. 🙂

No it was not sarcastic at all. I did not mean it in a bad way. I am a qualified personal fitness trainer. So don't worry, you do not have to show me any proof. I just meant that brisk walking for 90 minutes for simply put, burn fat.
