Thanks for the replies everyone, I've listened to most of the songs mentioned (repeatedly!) so I'm always searching for new material as I tend to 'learn' songs fairly quickly so they don't have the mental edge they did originally. I just got the new Disturbed album, threw that on my mp3 and had a pretty decent workout by any standard. I'll definitely try to check out some of the other songs I haven't heard yet.

Thanks again

JT

IMO keeping it fresh helps a ton. I use to listen to heavy rock exclusively but then started mixing it up. Now I burn my lifting CDs with stuff that ranges from light rock to heavy rap because it seems to help me if it's something new that I havent listened to alot of.

I must be a bird of a different feather then. I like techno, house/rave type music when I lift. Not always but more times than not. Something up tempo with a beat thats repetitive so I can focus on tha task at hand and not caught paying attention to lyrics as they tend to destroy my mind and muscle connection.

If anyone cares, if I ever compete I think I'm going with a custom version of 4 Strings -- Diving (Cosmic Gate Remix) as my posing music.

I enjoy lifting more with music; that said, I actually do better when I focus in and tune everything out.

I find music most helpful during rest intervals. I rarely 'hear' whats playing during the set itself. In preparation for a set I draw intensity from the music and just fire it out.

Siege is good, along with others there. 'Terminator' and 'Vengeance' tracks are also on my playlist.

They are made by a person called 'Justin R. Durban' - motivational, film score (movie) style of music, of the type you would find in Arnie films, helps me feel most driven, and focused during my workouts.
