I take sardines over tuna anytime. Don't trust the tuna as they goes through processed since who knows what else is in it. At least the sardines, I can see the headless fish. Thats my opinion. But tuna is good sometime but I cannot handle the salt they put in it. My stomach goes funny sometime.

i don't think its really that big of a difference...unless one has more sodium maybe..

the only thing i'd watch for is what they are packed in. When you get tuna packed in water, the only fat that is in it is fish oils, one of the best fats for you. But if one of them is packed in some type of vegetable oil, steer clear. with the possible exception of sunflower oil which i think is an essential fat, but don't quote me...

so, IMHO, go w/ the one that is packed in water, it'll have a better protein to total calorie ratio, and for flavor you can mix it w/ some flax or olive oil.

Tuna or sardines? Whichever you can stand more is the better one I guess. Both are good sourses of protein and are nasty. Just keep a pack of gum on you.

ALBACORE is the correct name.

I think you can benefit more from the sardines as far as essential fatty acids are concerned.

I think they're relatively the same type of protein though. Maybe check a biological value chart.

Tuna is the way to go. I mixed it with either lowfat sourcream or nofat mayo and chopped up veggies. Sardines or OK in moderation, I buy the Sardines in Louisiana Hot Sauce or Mustard. They are tastier than the ones packed in water.
